Everything you need to know about how meguest works — for guests and event organisers alike.
Getting started
You register your face once by taking a selfie on your profile page. meguest creates a mathematical representation of your face (a face embedding) — not the photo itself. When the event organiser uploads photos, our system compares every detected face in every photo against your embedding and surfaces the ones that match you. No manual tagging needed.
You'll receive an email invite from the event organiser. Click the link in the email, sign in (or create a free account), and complete your face registration if you haven't already. Once the organiser has finished processing photos, your personal gallery will appear automatically — no refresh needed.
No app required. meguest works entirely in your browser on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. Just open the invite link and you're in.
Your photos
A few common reasons:
Processing not complete yet — the organiser may still be uploading or the pipeline is still running. Check back in a few minutes.
Face not registered — go to your profile page (top-right menu) and complete face registration with a clear selfie.
Poor selfie quality — try re-registering in good lighting, facing the camera straight on.
You weren't captured clearly — if you were at the back of a crowd or your face was turned away, the system may not have a confident match.
Still nothing? Email us at help@meguest.in with your event name.
Yes. Open any photo in the lightbox and use the download button (↓) in the top-right corner. Photos download at full resolution exactly as the organiser uploaded them.
Yes — tap the share icon (↗) on any photo to share directly via WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook, or copy a link. WhatsApp previews show a branded meguest card with a "Find my photos" link, so your guests can discover their own photos too.
Tap the 👎 button on the photo. This sends a notification to the event organiser, who can review and remove the photo from your gallery. Face recognition is very accurate but occasionally makes mistakes, especially in low-light conditions or with very similar-looking people.
Access duration depends on the plan the organiser purchased — between 30 and 180 days from the event date. Download your favourites before the event expires. The organiser can tell you their plan if you're unsure.
Uploading photos
You can provide a Google Drive folder link, a Google Photos shared album link, or a Smash/WeTransfer link when creating your event. meguest downloads everything automatically and starts processing. You can also paste a link later from the Admin panel → "Import photos" tab.
JPEG, PNG, and HEIC (the default format on iPhones) are fully supported. RAW camera files (CR2, NEF, ARW) are not currently supported — ask your photographer to export as high-resolution JPEG. There's no per-file size limit, though very large files take longer to process. Total storage depends on your plan (50 GB – 500 GB).
Yes — the simplest workflow is to have your photographer upload to a Google Drive folder and share the link with you. You then paste that link into your meguest event. A Smash/WeTransfer link or a shared Google Photos album work equally well.
Processing & results
A typical wedding with 1,000–2,000 photos takes roughly 20–45 minutes end-to-end (download + face detection + clustering). You'll see real-time progress in the Admin panel. Larger events with 5,000+ photos may take a couple of hours.
After processing, meguest clusters all detected faces into groups of similar-looking people. You don't need to label any of them — guests register their own faces and the matching is automatic. However, labelling the key people (bride, groom, family) in the Admin → Faces tab improves accuracy for a second processing pass.
Yes. Paste a new transfer link in the Admin panel and run the pipeline again. Labels you've already set are preserved automatically — the system re-applies them after each run so you don't lose your work.
Guests & invites
Go to Admin → Guests tab. Add guests one by one with name and email, or upload a CSV. meguest sends each guest a personalised email with their invite link. You can also share the event passphrase and they can join themselves at meguest.in.
Yes. In Admin → Settings, you can add a co-organiser by email. They receive a separate invite and get full access to the Admin panel for that event.
Your face data
We store a 512-number mathematical vector (face embedding) derived from your selfie. This is a one-way representation — it cannot be used to reconstruct a photo of you. The selfie image itself is not stored. The embedding is only used to find you in event photos.
No. Your face embedding is tied to your account and the specific events you join. It is never shared with third parties, advertisers, or other users. Event organisers see only your name and which photos match you — not your embedding.
Yes. Go to your profile page (meguest.in/me) and use the "Delete face registration" option to remove your embedding. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email help@meguest.in — we'll process it within 7 days.
All data — photos, embeddings, and account information — is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in the Asia South 1 (Mumbai) region. No data leaves India.
When an event's access period ends (30–180 days depending on the organiser's plan), guest access is revoked and the photos are scheduled for deletion. Organisers receive a reminder before expiry and can download an archive. We do not keep photos indefinitely.
Grand — full wedding weekends with multiple functions (6,000–12,000 photos)
Marquee — large wedding weekends, large corporate events (12,000+ photos)
When in doubt, pick the plan above your estimate — storage is the binding constraint.
Payments are processed by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We accept UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net banking. meguest never stores your payment details.
If processing has not yet started, email help@meguest.in within 48 hours of purchase and we'll issue a full refund. Once processing has begun, refunds are not available — please reach out and we'll do what we can to help.
Always. Guests pay nothing — creating an account, registering your face, joining events, viewing your photos, and sharing them are all completely free. The organiser covers the cost.
